“ The healthy mind resides in the healthy body.” The importance of sports and games in the school encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activities. It increases self esteem and mental alertness. Games and sports are necessary for every school age child as they teach skills like team work, leadership, passions and tolerance. Sports education not only maintain physical stamina but also the habit of obedience , discipline, determinatio, to win and time value. Keeping this in mind, sports or physical activities are valued and excepted part of our school curriculum. In the school students participate in a wide range of sport activities through out the year and enhance their fundamental physical literacy.
For the pre primary section of the school an annual physical development program is followed religiously. Which promotes body movements and hand and eye coordination.
In the school the students kick start their brain with morning exercises in the assembly. The school has employed a skilled physical trainer to guide the children. The practice of YOGA is also given a lot of importance by the school as it is an effective way to help students develop self regulation, mind body fitness and peace of mind, which enhances performance of the students. It encourages healthy , focused and confident students and create healthy learning environment.
The school is successfully running two sports academies CRICKET and SKATING under sharp and skilled coaches. which have earned good name in the city sports scenario and have won many inter school competition. There is a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, throw ball, badminton, football, chess, table tennis, carom etc.
For the encouragement of the children every year an award for best sports boy and girl is granted by the school. Children enthusiastically participate in the annual sports meet of the school which take place house wise every year.
